our story
in tech, a black box is something you plug in and it works. no one asks how. no maintenance, no fuss. it just works.
that idea kept finding me.
before there was a blkboxsilk, there was a habit. i slept on silk for years, long enough that it stopped feeling like a choice and started feeling like a baseline. when my hair was still virgin black, i used to film it falling against a silk scrunchie. the way it slid, slowly, with no friction at all. i kept the videos.
years later, i started dyeing my hair. doing things to it that should have wrecked it. they didn't. the silk caught everything sleep would have taken- the snags, the breakage, the friction that quietly undoes a head of hair over a thousand nights. linen, by comparison, was a small disaster. i know. i tried.
so when i finally made my own, i took two years with it. because i wanted nothing left to wish i'd done differently. the weight. the stitch. the packaging. the way the fabric feels at 2am when you turn your pillow to the cool side. all of it.
30 momme mulberry silk. most of what you'll find is 22. i could explain the difference, but i won't. you'll feel it the first night.
double-stitched seams. built the way i want everything in my life built: done right, made to last.
blkboxsilk isn't for everyone. this is for the ones who notice what their skin looks like in the morning, what their hair does, and what a thousand quiet nights add up to.
